Karachai horses excel in great endurance, intelligence, sense for orientation and independence. Their motion is very elliptical and soft. Thanks to those characteristics and qualities they are great at endurance/distance racing. The longer the race and the more difficult surface of the country is the more visible are the great characteristics and qualities of the Karachai breed horses. As an example or evidence we can remind the fact that Karachai breed horses are the only ones that reached both summits of Elbrus (5640 m) in 1999 and 2000.

From spring to fall 2005 we were able to get under a saddle 8 horses in the age 3 – 7. Five of them have already attended distance races (some of them just one month after getting under a saddle). Even though training for races started only from May 2005 we have already scored in several endurance races for 40 km in hard hilly terrain. Reached training result show that the horses will be successful when systematically and periodically trained.

Most of our horses in training were only four years old in 2005 so they could only participate at competitions of qualification character for 25 km in which they always finished in very good times. In 2006 the situation changed and our horses started to participate in higher competitions. We have also been competing several times abroad. Training and methodic of sport horses during the races is done under patronage of SK Staj Mudra Mirosov – Kamínky headed by Mr. Jan Mudra, long time professional horseman and great specialist in horse breeding. Stable Mudra is actively involved in many other activities connected to breeding of Karachai horses and is owner of several of them too. Our horses are also ridden by riders from stable SK Staj Mudra.

Thanks to the fact that the horses are easy to control they can be ridden by amateurs without any problems and thanks to their soft motion are very suitable for recreation horse riding. Due to their intelligence Karachai horses are also good for western disciplines.
